This is two powerpoint presentations combined into one.
The first is an introduction to Anthropology in general, causation and correlation, and introduction to kinship(21 slides).
The second is a specific look at kinship and marriage, what it is and how it differs between cultures, pluralism, incest, and how/why anthropologists study it (24 slides).
These powerpoints can be combined or used separately. I used it in a grade 12 Society: Challenge and Change course as well as an Introduction to Anthropology, Sociology, and Physcology course.
The content and examples always get a reaction (shock, humour, disbelief, etc) and results in a very engaged class!
I am in the midst of my seventh year teaching at the high school level.
My subjects include junior and senior English, the Social Sciences and Canadian Law, although I will teach whatever they send my way!
