This file contains 15 slides. Nine slides are interactive. Interactive SMARTboard files are great for keeping your student's attention and encouraging participation. My students and principal love it when I use these files to teach.
In this file:
First students are lead through the concept of fractions being made from equal sized pieces.
Next, the size of pieces are defined by the number of pieces is in the whole. For example a pizza split into eight pieces is split into eighths. This is described using several interactive pull tab slides.
Then there is an interactive sort. Students sort pictures into figures that show equal pieces and those that show unequal pieces. There is a check button for students to check their answers when they finish the sort.
Lastly, students will complete multiple choice questions about how many pieces a figure is split into. For example, they are shown a figure and must determine whether it is split into thirds, fourths or sixths. When students click on an answer it will tell them to a "Correct" slide or a "Try Again" slide.
Please download the preview to see a thumbnail of each slide. NOTE: Some interactive components are not visible in the preview, which is why I have included them in the description above.
