(**Actual formatting is intact, regardless of possible thumbnail images)This 12 slide presentation introduces the basic concepts with cultural mythology and its application to modern society. From there, the presentation moves over to Greek mythology,The trial of Paris, and the Trojan War. This presentation is a great way to introduce a mythology unit, the Iliad, or The Odyssey!

Dear Ms. Howell, I loved your illustrations and would like more, but need to check some of your information about the Trojan war. I thought Helen was married to Menelaus, King of Sparta. Aphrodite introduced Paris to the couple because Aphrodite's bribe was that Paris would win the most beautiful woman. He sailed with Helen to Troy. Helen's was the "face that launched a thousand ships." I've added additional slides because the presentation is quite limited.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been teaching high school for the past 8 years. Throughout that time, I have taught English in the 9th, 10th, and 11th grades. I have also taught multiple levels of ELD (ESL). In addition to actual "in class experience", I have been a curriculum development specialist for online education through California State University Fullerton (CSUF). I am currently awaiting my scores for National Board Certification (fingers crossed! I find out in November.)
