In this PowerPoint Presentation, students are introduced to the concept of style in an interactive, engaging way. The slideshow includes a definition and explanation of style as it relates to analyzing an author's style as a reader, and developing one's own style as a writer. It focuses on the elements of diction, syntax, tone, and figurative language as a basis for studying and developing style in writing. The PowerPoint does all this while keeping students involved with sound effects, stimulating visuals, and questions. (15 slides)

Great Power Point, it kept my students attention, and they enjoyed the pictures and sound. The sentence examples for figuritive language were a little confusing, but as a whole this was a great teaching tool!

I think this will be very useful for my junior English classes. It makes the concept quite clear and I feel it will be a nice companion to use with other devices I employ when teaching style.
