The repetitive text and high level of picture support makes it easy for your little entomologists to read.
For your sweeties who are already reading higher leveled text it is a great way to build fluency. On the last two pages have your students draw a picture and fill in the blank to complete the text. This book is best done after an extensive study of insects and their characteristics.

Hi there,
I was wondering if you could do me a huge favor???? This weeks sight words are he and she. Could you replace it with he/she on this bug book? It would be wonderful to use it during guided reading and have the kids hunt for those specific sight words? If not, cause you have nothing better to do (ha ha) that's ok. I'm a cut and paste pro!
P.S. Today was the first day of the insect unit. OMG!!! This is the most fun I've had in months. I'm sure the kids are having a good time but "my having fun" is the most important. P.S.S. A group of teachers at my school that are obsessed with you were wondering if you would ever do workshops in GA? We would love to come and meet you, pick your brain, see your stuff and you in person? We would also love to take a road trip together. Thanks again for everything,
Jen
