Students are introduced to the unit on Islam by completing a "stations" activity. Attached is a 2-page "Islam Stations" worksheet. Divide the class up into 8 tables or "stations" with photocopied packets of information (from textbook, library books, or internet) at each station about each of the following topics: clothing, food, customs, women, art/architecture, writing/Koran, music, and trade. Students move from station to station in approx. 4 minute increments to take bulleted notes and draw a picture for each category.
