Hey, y'all!
I LOVE Charlotte's Web, and was inspired to create a unit that I could do with my first graders based on a teacher-led read-aloud. So, while many of the activities could be adapted to suit the needs of primary students, the center activities are definitely geared toward end-of-the-year first graders or beginning of the year second graders.
Also, I intentionally did NOT put lots of craftivities into this pack. There are so many adorable pig/spider crafts out there that I didn't want to sell you something that had already been created :)

I have fellow grade-level teachers who would like to use it as well and was hoping to purchase multiple licenses for them. Abby, I love all of your centers and own several of them already. I think you are very gifted in your ability to teach reading skills, inferencing etc. You have truly been given a precious gift!! Plus you make everything pretty and fun, something that toooo many of our students are missing in their lives. They are so worth any extra effort!! I love Charlottes web and have a group that are reading on a second grade level. Would this be enough for a small group unit? Should I supplement with some cause and effect, inferencing, reading strategy activities? Just wanted your opinion.

I've been asked to teach a group of 10 firsties once per week (for 1/2 hr each time) as an enrichment reading group. The first grade teachers say the kids are mid to end of 1st grade for reading ability. Some are a tad higher. Will they be able to write well enough to utilize your materials? I know you created this for your own first graders - I'm just nervous about what I can accomplish in an engaging way in 30 minutes a week - yikes!! Can you help? Thanks for any advice.

Hmmm, you'd probably have to ask the teacher in order to find out their writing abilities. Often, students that are high in reading are also decent writers, but I would verify with the teacher first :)

I love everything about this unit, but I have a lot of grey fading to black squares on my print outs. What do I need to do to get rid of these? Makes it kind of hard to use the print outs unless I white everything out and I don't have the time to spend doing that. Thanks for any help you can send my way. :D

This is easy to fix, so no worries! If you are a Mac user, you need Adobe Acrobat Reader X. If doing that doesn't work, try these options: - If you're a Mac user, switch browsers (i.e. if you're currently opening in Firefox, try opening in Internet Explorer or Safari) - Make sure you check Adobe under "open with" to verify that that Adobe is the program you're using to open the document and not "preview" - Try opening the document from an entirely different computer (open directly from TpT) Please let me know if any of these option help and, if they don't, you'll have to contact TpT for a refund (sellers don't handle anything money-related). Let me know if there's anything else I can do on my end to make this right! Thanks again for your purchase and have a great day!
