Introduce your students to the ank, ink, ight, ice, and ay word families. Use these word families to teach over 70 words through a fun, upbeat media file to use on your Smart Board, interactive whiteboard, or student computers. Use the song to teach reading these word families or for teaching the phonemic awareness skills of rhyming and substitution of the first sound of a word.
This is a .mov file that can be opened with Quick Time on your computer. You no longer have to worry about syncing a power point with the song and setting the timing. It is ready to use on your students computers or interactive whiteboard. You can use it with your Smart Board and pause during the slides to highlight words, letters, or strategies. YAY!!! I love to hear these stories from my own families. What better home-school connection than to hear your kiddos singing how they learn to read. These stories get me ready to go again on my next project. When you get to the last page on the file, have them see if they can make new words. This month, the lightbulb will click on the "ank" words and someone will figure out "Thanksgiving."
