As an elementary substitute teacher, I am always looking for fun activities to fill extra time and motivate students. Readers workshop students of all ages will love this song. It's a great way to reinforce key vocabulary and concepts. When the younger students hear this song, they will want to sing about their book, like Kaitlyn.

This is my nineteenth year of teaching. I currently teach second grade. Much of what I believe about teaching evolved during a four year teaching opportunity that I had in a multi-age setting working with third, fourth, and fifth grade-age kids. I believe that truly exciting things happen for kids when we take off labels and limits and leave each to develop at his own individual pace.
