This practice uses most letters. There are 26+ pages in all - one for each letter of the alphabet, except Xx, and a few blends (sh, th, wh).
To use Beginning Sounds Practice in your classroom, first, you will need to print all the pages.
Second, you will need to decide how you want to use the pages. If you want flash cards: laminate, cut and go! If you would prefer a book: laminate, cut and bind or staple. I typically laminate and cut the words, then hole punch them and use a cable tie to make a little ring. This is the most durable version I have made.
Third, when it's time to teach, have the student read the letter name, then the letter sound, and then the words. For example, I would say A, /a/, and am at.
When the children are finished reading through the words, I always make sure I take a minute or two to check and see if there were any words we should review.
You can use this large group, small group or one-on-one. You could even make then for your children to keep in their book boxes! You are only limited by your creativity!
