This packet contains 44 pages of addition and subtraction facts to 10. The pages can be stapled into a journal like I do with my class or sheets can be done individually. You can split this file into 2 journals if you wish, one with addition facts and one with subtraction facts. I have my class illustrate the problem to show their work. They can draw a picture or use tally marks. I also have them write the math fact at the bottom of each section.
These pages can also be run off individually and sent home for homework. I have done this before and it was fun to see how kids worked with their parents to illustrate the story problem.
This file can also be projected onto a Smartboard. I find that this is a great way to introduce this Math Journal to the class.
I designed these problems in Word so you can easily edit the word problems as you need.
My class is use to working in writing journals so they were very excited to have a journal for math. I hope your class likes these word problems as much as my class does.
Addition, subtraction, math facts, story problems, word problems
Thanks! I just made this for my class. I'm glad it is working for you. I am doing it for morning work too. My kids are loving having their own Math Journal. :)
