Do your students need opportunities to practice reading, writing, and spelling words from common short vowel word families? This file may be the answer!!!
This file has independent practice for 26 common short vowel word families. It is designed to be used four days a week, with a different activity for each day. On Mondays, students read the words and cut/glue the pictures to match. On Tuesdays, they cut/glue letters to make words. On Wednesdays, they write words from the word family, as well as 3 review words from previous weeks. On Thursdays, they write words again and choose one word to use in a sentence. This resource is ready to copy and use tomorrow!!
Your students will grow as readers, writers, and spellers as you use these worksheets. They make great morning work, centers, literacy stations, homework or other word work. They are designed for a kindergarten classroom, but could also be used for advanced preschool students or as a review in early first grade.

Love these! Great independent work for the first of the day when I am doing roll and lunch count. It has helped their writing skills also. As the year went on I had the children turn their first 3 papers over and see how many sentences they could write with the words.

This package is great. I love the variety of activities, and the idea that almost everything is cut and paste. The only suggestion I have for improving it would be that several of the word families were combined together on the worksheets (like -id and -ick) - I think I would have preferred if they each had their own pages. Other than that, it is a fun booklet which I look forward to using!
