THIS IS A PRODUCT CREATED FOR MY THIRD GRADERS TO PRACTICE THOSE SKILLS WEVE BEEN LEARNING ALL YEAR. TOPICS INCLUDED ARE: IDIOMS, PARTS OF SPEECH, EDITING, SUBJECTS OF SENTENCES. THE IDEA OF THIS WAS TO CREATE SEVERAL DAYS OR EVEN A COUPLE OF WEEKS OF ACTIVITIES FOR STUDENTS TO WORK ON DURING LANGUAGE TIME. THEY TRULY ENJOY THIS BECAUSE OF THE CHOICE FACTOR, AND THE ABILITY TO USE THEIR CREATIVITY TO MAKE A FINAL PRODUCT. SOME OF THE ACTIVITIES INCLUDE THINGS LIKE MAKING FLIPBOOKS, USING BOOKS TO IDENTIFY PARTS OF SPEECH, BROCHURE MAKING, CORRECTING WRITING FROM THE BEGINNING OF THE YEAR, ETC.

My kids love tic tac toes! Also love searching for and finding parts of speech and idioms in their library books. This is a great way to check for understanding, good partner work, and can be used as homework as well.

Great packet. I love the tic tac toe idea. . but I am a substitute and plan on using these worksheets as fillers when lesson plans run short. Thank you!!

TEACHING EXPERIENCE
Subject Area:
Currently assigned as lead third grade teacher in my school. I have been teaching for seven years, all of them being spent at the same school. I have taught fourth grade, second grade, and am currently in my fourth year of teaching third grade. I absolutely LOVE third grade and hope to stay with it for many years to come!
