three images....It is important that students at every age understand that everything they buy has a carbon footprint...that it took water, energy, and other resources to harvest, produce, store and ship every item we buy. This is a familiar visual as it showcases the life cycle of a T-shirt from harvest to its end of life. An educator can discuss many issues while referring to this visual including how different phases produce pollution, child labor in other nations, and whether natural or synthetic fibers are environmentally preferable. The second and third images relate to litter and how it travels through the air and then through the water to harm nature and wildlife.
