This Christmas unit is mainly for elementary school age children, but middle and high schoolers will enjoy these activites as well. They will explore the legend from Mexcio about the Poinsettia. There are several versions of the legend, but in every version their is a poor child (boy or girl) who does not have a present for the Baby Jesus for the Christmas prosession. The child then garthers a bouquet of weeds and lays them at the altar as a gift for the Baby Jesus. A miracle happens. The weeds turn into red blazzing flowers. In this unit students will enjoy learning about this legend through TRP and a series of activities. First they will learn the key vocabulary and act out the story as they learn Spanish. There are also after reading activites, games, crafts, and much more!
