Activity is compatible with avery labels 5160 or 8460. Just print the document on labels and have the kids match and stick! There is a sheet with clip art for each school item, and a sheet for each word that is represented by a picture. What I have the kids do is make a set of flashcards using 1/2 of 3x5 index cards (15 cards each), then I have the student lay their cards out with a partner. One partner randomly spreads the word side of their cards, the other partner randomly spreads their cards picture side up. Then they play a game. Each partner takes turns trying to pair up the picture with the word. When they get a match they keep the match. Whoever has the most matches at the end of the game wins. Then they just make two piles of the cards they matched and give one pile to their partner and keep one so they get all their cards back. They can play this game more than once depending on the time. It is a nice hands-on activity, and you don't need a lot of supplies. Vocabulary included: paper, pen, pencil, eraser, book, student, posters, shoes, clothes, glue, stapler, ruler, pencil sharpner, desk, etc. There are 30 words and pictures total.
