My students love to label pictures...which is awesome because it gets them reading and writing! I revised these mats to include B&W pages! There are now 28 (14 color and 14B&W) Label It! Mats to use in a writing station...just print, place in a plastic sleeve, and allow the kids to use a dry erase marked to label the pictures, using the provided word box. If you prefer, you can always print them out to use as individual work pages.
Also included is a student direction page to place in the station.
Now with simpler font and larger boxes!
Great product!!! Perfect for my K/1 class!!! Thanks!!

Good Morning FirstGradeBlueSkies,
I am enjoying using this packet.
After doing many of these I decided to not to accept an illustration (in journals or writing activities) without my little ones labeling it. It has made a difference in their illustrations matching their writing and also assessing their comprehension...lets face it- a picture may not look like what the child intended it to but if the picture is labeled, we know what the intention is. Thank you for making me a more effective teacher.

My kiddos love these :) Could I suggest adding a place to write a sentence (or more)? As we adopt common core standards writing is becoming more and more important!
I agree! A couple of my packs have that option, but I will try to update the others this summer and you should be able to download them again for no charge. Watch my blog for updates or look at your download page for notifications of when I update them! (As of right now, with the other packs I have my kids write a sentence or two on the back =)
I absolutely love these. Do you have any of these without the word bank? Or can you make a set that is just the picture with the label spots to go with it ? I teach K and sometimes I just want them to practice stretching and writing the sounds they hear. It is especially helpful for my ESL friends who lack the vocab.

My kindergarteners love these!!! We use them to go with each unit of study. Great for handwriting practice and hand/eye coordination. I put my copy on the overhead and label and they copy.

Hi! I just became a follower and I am excited to purchase your Label It Mats! I teach Kinder and I would love to have the set with a simppler font that someone else asked about. Should I purchase the regular ones first and then have you e-mail me the simpler ones? If this is too much trouble for you, I will give the originals a try ifrst. Love your work! Thank you!
Thanks for your interest! I just fixed them and updated the file!! You are good to go if you want to purchase them now with the simpler font! =) Have a great day!!
