I just bought this, but is there a way to make them smaller to fit on my book bins? Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thank you!

Hi tdhafner,

I do have suggestions, but they're a little labor intensive... that's why I try to be specific in the description. Instead of reducing them, can you punch a hole in them and attach them to your baskets with a ribbon or tie? One way to shrink them would be to take a screen shot of each one and reduce the jpeg. Or, you could reduce them on a color copier, but both of those options will take time. I'm sorry they don't fit on your tubs. I'm hopeful you can tie them on or attach them with a clothespin. :)

Hi Andrea,
I am so very excited to start organizing my library! Is there a chance you could make a label for Anna Dewdney "Llama Llama", Victoria Kann "Pinkalicious", Rob Scotton "Slpat the Cat"? Please?
Thank You,
Rebekah

I love these library labels! You have made it so easy to organize my library! Is there any chance you would make a label for "Family/Friends", "Feelings", "Rhyming" and "Weather"?

Thank you so much!!

What size label do you need to print this right?

The actual size of these labels is larger than standard label sheets. I print them onto cardstock and then hang them from my baskets with a metal ring or ribbon, but my baskets are more of an "open" design with holes. If you wanted them to be "sticky" labels, you might try printing them on full sheets of self-adhesive paper. They are about the size of large index cards.

Hi Andrea,

Does your packet include some editable blank labels, in case I have other categories?

Thanks,
Judy

Hi Judy,

There is a blank label in the packet, but the document isn't "editable" because products posted to TPT are submitted as PDFs. You could duplicate the blank label and add your additional categories on that one, if desired.

Thank you,
Andrea :)

Hi tmberry,

I'm glad to add these. Please allow a few weeks because the beginning of school is a bit busy right now. I may be able to get them done this coming weekend, but definitely within two weeks from now. Thanks for your interest. :)

Do you also have little labels to put on the books so students know where to return the book?

Hi Molly,

I don't have separate smaller labels that match the larger ones, mostly because we have so many books in our classrooms and it would require a lot of color ink. I have two ideas that might work for you, though... I know it's a challenge to get young children to put books back in the right spot.

1. I use simple stickers, nothing too detailed and fancy (yard sale dots, plain stars, colored smiley faces, etc) and we match the books that way. For example, I might put a red smiley face dot on the Eric Carle label and then every Eric Carle book will have a red smiley face dot on the inside cover. That's how we match books in our classroom.

2. My classroom has two "librarians" that I have chosen because they're responsible and have an attention to detail. This is how I use them: When it's time for my students to "shop" for new books, they return their old books to the "Return Bin," just like they would in an actual library. (It's just a large Rubbermaid tub labeled "Return Bin.") Each morning, my two librarians look in the bin to see if there are any books to return and then shelve the books for me. This way I don't have to do it, it creates two more class jobs, and I'm confident all the books are getting back to the right spots.

I hope those ideas will work for you. Have a great year! :)
