About Seller

This is such a fun and meaningful activity for your students! They will begin by having a "word" to say to each other- they will only see the word but they will not know what it means OR will they know what the other students are saying back to them. This will help begin a discussion on languages and cultures (each student will have a word that means "hello"). Questions like this can be added to your discussion:

-How did it make you feel that you didn't know what others were saying?

-What can you do to communicate with someone who speaks another language?

The activity ends with the students learning how to say "HELLO" in 9 languages!

This is activity has:
-hello cards for the students to pick from
-hello sheet for the students to learn 9 new languages
-hello answer key for you!
-links to show proper pronunciation of each language- the kids like to hear this!
-2 pages of very detailed instructions and questions to enhance your lesson!

This is my 13th year teaching. Wow, where did the time go? I have taught 7 years in first grade and I am currently on my 6th year in second grade. Which do I like better you ask? I have reasons to love them both! I think first grade made me the teacher I am today. My heart is in second though. I am lucky to work in a wonderful school with wonderful students!
