Students will research significant terms, people, and historical events of Latin America. Students will choose among several tasks of varying complexity and higher order thinking skills to make up 20 points for the tiered assessment. This is a great project for educators teaching about Latin America or the 6th grade Georgia Performance Standards (GPS).
I had found that with this particular project more weight (30% of the total grade) should be given to making sure that students have the required point total and more weight (20% of the total grade) should be given to making sure that students have the necessary content in their project. In other words, I didn't think that something like grammar errors should be given the same weight as required point total and content. I hope that this helps.
