This lesson is a great way to teach the layers of soil because it includes many opportunities for student involvement. The lesson objectives are for students to be able to label the different layers of soil and to be able to recognize key words about the layers. The final product of the lesson is a diagram of the layers of soil. The diagram is made from basic construction paper, and students place the key words on the layers as a way to demonstrate what they have learned about soil layers.
