Sheet has the letters to spell out "le francais". Make many copies and cut the letters apart. Mix all of the letters together in a bag (to make it more difficult, reduce the number of 1 or 2 letters). The object is for students to earn the chance to draw a letter and then to spell out "Le francais" (including the blank space). Students earn letters by doing whatever it is that you are trying to reinforce: all materials in class, homework done, volunteering in class, speaking French outside of class or between activities, getting an A on a quiz, getting a correct answer on an activity, etc. The prize is for you to determine: candy, homework pass, extra credit. I use this incentive system with my lower level classes & they love it; they remind me when they have earned a letter.
I have taught French at the high school level for 18 years. I have also taught enrichment classes to younger students and continuing education to adults.
