One of my students' favorite learning station activities is the learning walk. My students always take a buddy with them and sometimes a timer, as well. They follow the simple directions on the sheet as they make observations about their environment along the way. This form can easily be modified to fit your school's campus and your specific curriculum needs.

I have been teaching for 17 years at the same school in Mandeville, Louisiana. I taught 1st grade for six years and have taught 2nd grade for eleven years.
