Students taste lemonade batches to understand the concept of linear inequalities in two variables. Students will taste and compare lemonade recipes, create a ratio table for the test batch and graph the results. By comparing the greater than inequality as being more lemony and the less than inequality as being more watery, students get a better understanding of the meanings of proportional linear equations and linear inequalities on a coordinate graph. Great for students who benefit by alternative learning and it tastes good too!

I have taught middle school mathematics for 15 years and I especially love teaching Algebra concepts. I decided to write my own stories because there was nothing out there for middle level students that taught linear equations. My project Once Upon a Line has been popular with my students for over 8 years.
