The ability to use mental math is an invaluable skill that will be used again and again throughout life. I don't know about you, but I wish someone would have done more with this skill when I was a kid!
I included 20 pairs of math problems that equal 100. I suggest that you not use all of the cards at once. I started out with 10 pairs of the easier problems, and then switched the cards out. 40 cards is too many to remember!

I have been teaching for 25 years. I have taught kindergarten and 1st grade...then began to loop with 2nd and 3rd graders. I absolutely loved looping! It was so exciting to watch the growth in those little buggers over a two year period....and talk about getting attached! Those little people, their families and I became very close. We stopped looping a few years ago when we changed principals. I'm trying to talk my new principal into letting me team teach with a friend....we just want to knock out one of the walls!
