I switched to kindergarten this year after several years in 1st grade. I was feeling a bit like I had gotten in over my head when we got the first set of DIBELS scores. I decided that it was going to take a team of both school and home to get things going. I made a set of practice pages for my parents to work on letter naming at home. I explained the purpose of the test as well as how the test was used. I also attached 8 pages for them to use at home. The first pages have symbols to help the children track and return sweep. The following pages are similar but do not have the pictures and are more like the actual test material. My scores really took a turn and my students were performing better in the classroom. They were faster with the letters and then the sounds as well. It was GREAT! It is still useful for my students who need a bit more time because of their age or maturity level.
Hope it makes your day a easier!

Help
I have been teaching for going on 13 years now. I have spent most of that time teaching first graders. I recently moved to Kindergarten & I love it! I am a very silly and creative person. I always want to do great things in my classroom. I love to find ways to create shortcuts that save me $ and time in the classroom. Most of my items were created for that reason. I either got tired of getting ripped off at the teacher's store or they just didn't have what I was looking for! I hope that you see something that might make your day easier or save you some coin!
