Literacy Activity Cards: 34 fun activities to build reading, writing & communication skills

You can use these cards in many ways. Here are a few options:
*Have students select a different card to do each day for homework.
*Cut, hole punch and attach with a binder ring to send home for literacy practice over school breaks. They're small, so parents can keep them handy to pull out when they need a quick activity to pass the time. (They fit nicely in Mom's purse or in the car glove compartment.)
*Keep the sheets whole. (Do not cut out the cards.) Have students complete a row of activities to earn a little prize.
*Challenge students to use them to create their own literacy board game.

I love the activities on these cards. My students will love them too. The will also be great for students to use when they finish their work and need something else to do.

Thank you for your thoughts on the size. I created them in the small size so they would be portable, and also because it makes them unique and appealing to kids. I do see your point though, and I'm thinking about editing and offering two size options when I have time. In the meantime, you could enlarge them on the copier. (I know that's more work, so not the best option.) Thanks so much for taking the time to leave me a note. I really appreciate it!

TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have 10 years of teaching experience in the elementary grades, and 8 years as a parent. I'm passionate about creating products that combine what I know about education from both perspectives. Before staying home with my three young boys, I taught grades 3-6. I also subbed in grades K-12. I currently blog at www.smalltypes.com, where I exercise my "teacher brain" by sharing tips for parents to help them create a print-rich home. I keep up with best practices through continuing education; I volunteer in my sons' classrooms; and like most parents, I do plenty of after-school teaching to support my own kids' learning at home.
