"The Cask of Amontillado" Literary Analysis Essay
This is a scaffolded writing assignment for a literary analysis essay. It focuses on the characterization of two characters from E.A. Poe's "The Cask of Amontillado".

How long does this usually take?

It really depends on how much of it you have the kids do in class. I've used this with some regular English classes where I'll just go over what to do, give the kids the scaffolds, and then I move on to something else while the kids have a week to complete the essay at home. I've also done this with reading intervention students where I've had to do all of it with the kids in class. That usually takes about 4-5 days.
