This is a really helpful tool/handout I give to my students to keep in their writing folder. It is a 5-pg document that provides very useful information (mostly a wide variety of sentence prompts) on how students can respond to literature effectively. Strategies include:
-How to introduce/include a direct quote from a text - including alot of model sentence prompts
- How to analyze an author's use of a literary technique/device
- How to show similarity/contrast when comparing 2 things in a response
