Your beginning writers will have fun learning to label pictures, create a collage illustration and write a simple sentence with my Lois Ehlert Writing and illustration Project. The file contains Part 1 - Learning to Label a Picture and Part 2 - Lois Ehlert Author/Illustrator Study and Project. Part1 contains a detailed teacher's lesson plan (building background, modeling, practice). Projectable and printable sheets are included for modeling and practice activities. Part 2 contains a detailed teacher's lesson plan, links to websites (interviews with Lois Ehlert), instructions for an illustration project and photos of sample projects.
This project works well as an application of the skills learned in two of my other writing lessons (Learn to Write a Word and Learn to Write a Sentence).
This lesson is one part of my writing program, Write My Way... lessons for beginning writers. The entire program will be posted by month (lessons for each month bundled together) and individually (like this lesson). Check my WRITING products category to see what is available!

Oh that must have been frustrating!! I just uploaded an update to the file and included 5 additional photos to label that are much darker. I haven't had any problems myself but I know that every printer or copier is different. Let me know if you have any problems with the new pictures. Thanks for letting me know as other teachers may have had the same issue. I'm happy to provide the darker alternatives! (If you click "my purchases" you can download the updated file :-)
