This Long A Kids packet is perfect for teaching long a spelling patterns {a_e, ai, & ay}. This packet includes two Long A Kids characters and stories {similar to those in my Digraph Kids packet}. In addition to the Long A Kids characters & stories, this packet includes:

I've used the digraph kids the last 2 years and my kids love them and really associate them with the sounds....they were really excited when I used these this year for ai/ay! Love that some of the activities are useful for centers as well!

Great activities for practicing the long a sound! I notice that you include "hair," "chair," "fairy," Where we live, those words aren't pronounced with a long a! We say it like a short e! I just pulled those words out of the word sorts.

I sure am, Nichole! I actually have the long i, long o, and long u packets *almost* completed. I'm also working on some that follow other vowel patterns. this summer really got away from me so I haven't been able to finish them as quickly as I was hoping!!!

I just downloaded your Long A Kids activities and it's great but I noticed for the Spin It, Flip It, Write It activity where you sort "ai" "ay" and "long a" words, there are no "ay" words in the word cards to sort?

I am preparing the activities from the Long A Kids package and discovered that the -ay word card sheet is missing for the "Spin it flip it write" activity, but there are two copies of the -ai- words (with train and mail at the top). Is there are way that I can get the missing sheet?

Hello! I loved this unit! One thing I noticed is in the Spin It, Flip It, Write It game there are 2 copies of the ai words (page 29) and its missing the ay words. I used some of the other ay word cards from another activity in the pack but thought you might want to know. If you happen to add the ay word can you please send me a copy? Thanks so much!
