This is an animated Powerpoint that demonstrates the steps of long division. The first and last slide contain division vocabulary (dividend, divisor, quotient) in horizontal and vertical formats. Each slide has the steps in the process listed on the right side of the slide. Each slide must be advanced by the teacher to insure time for discussion. The "no nonsense" slides are not too wordy and do not have any distracting graphics. This presentation can be used to teach the process and then used for quick reviews to solidify the concept.
Each digit is added to the slide separately, therefore, you can easily change the problem for additional practice. I also have similar slide shows for Long Division with Remainders and Long Division with Dividends ending in Zero (reminds students to continue with the process until the ones place has been populated.)
