This is a sorting activity to reinforce long vowel i, specifically distinguishing between the ie and igh spellings. The soccer balls with words in the center of the page are unlocked, everything else on the page is locked so it will remain stationary. Words with a long i sound spelled ie should be put in the first net, words with a long i sound spelled igh in the second net. Students simply touch and drag words onto the correct net.
