MA5 for High School - The Progressive Era
This is written as a one week lesson for high students. The lesson covers the period of the late 19th and early 20th century when reformers sought to use the power of state and the federal government to curb the dominance of powerful and corrupt businesses. The lesson the reading for the assignments, key vocabulary terms, comprehension questions and essay question. The lesson also contains map identification, an essay assignment on mandatory education and regulation for working by minors, an essay with study questions on the benefits of political machines during this period, a fill in the blank review, and two quizzes.
I have taught Middle and High School Social Studies and English in Phoenix area schools since 1986. I have taught in traditional public schools, Catholic and charter schools. Much of my teaching career has involved working with ESL students.
