Thank you so much for this fun activity. It is a great way for first graders to explore fractions. In Canada, we only can buy fun size M&M's at Halloween, so I just purchased large bags and divided them into snack size zip locs. Most schools are now peanut free, so try the pretzel M&M's - less chocolate too. Will certainly check out your other products and blog.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I've taught elementary school for nine years. I spent eight years in fourth grade, and this is my first year in third! I'm a past president of the El Paso Reading Council, the local branch of the International Reading Association, and I'm also a Teacher-Consultant for the West Texas Writing Project, the local site of the National Writing Project. I love to teach all contents, but my heart is in literacy!
