Inviting Mystery Readers into my classroom is an activity that the children adore. They get so excited to see who will be coming and it's great to let them see so many people reading. In addition to parents and family members, I try to include faculty and staff as well.
I created this kit to make the process of hosting Mystery Readers be organized and cute. Included in the kit you will find:
-A invitation letter explaining what Mystery Reader is
-A sign-up book to keep track of who is coming in
-A reminder slip to send home
-Clue Sheets with a space for a photo/drawing to add after the visit
-A Book cover for an ongoing class book to create using the above clue sheets
-A poster to display when you have a Mystery Reader coming in to read.

Over the years I have worked my way up from Preschool to Kindergarten to 1st, 2nd and 3rd. I've been in third grade for 6 years and simply adore teaching this age. My experiences have included inner-city and neighborhood schools in the suburbs. I've loved both for different reasons.
