Synopsis: Ms. Frizzle's class is used to adventures. After all they do have a magic school bus. You just never know what new place the Friz is going to take her class to next. Today the class found Ms. Frizzle in a dress covered in whales! Does that mean they are on their way to whale of an adventure? What will this adventure hold? Find out as you travel along with Ms. Frizzle and her class in their magic school bus.
This print and use workbook series is a child directed unit study that connects science and literature and requires no teacher or parental prep time. This unit study connects the literary skills with the scientific concepts found in The Magic School Bus series. The unit is self guided with activities designed to learn science through reading. The unit was written by a New York State certified science and elementary education teacher.
The format is an exciting new approach to studying literature and science. Each page engages the student in many interesting activities. Children will explore new vocabulary in its context and answer questions that expands their scientific knowledge. This process not only ensures full comprehension of the novel but ensures that the learner comprehends the science concepts presented in the story. The unit study concludes with an organized and detailed science journal that enables the learner to summarize all of the science concepts.
