This 13-page worksheet explores the twenty-first of the Magic Tree House books by Mary Pope Osborne: Civil War on Sunday. The questions engage the student in US history. It requires the student to read the text carefully, to engage the plot for specific details, practice vocabulary, and to make personal connections with the main characters which include, Confederate and Union soldiers, drummer boys, the civil war era-nurse and founder of the Red Cross, Clara Barton, as well as former slaves. The worksheet also practices nouns, adjectives, adverbs, nouns, irregular tenses, and homophones.
I love how you not only focused on the story information, but grammar as well! Very cool! We are starting this book in my literature circles next week!
