Magnets Sort-This game helps students with the sort pictures of objects that are attracted to and not attracted to a magnet. To prepare for the game: Make copies of each page, (I made a few sets to divide the class up into groups.) laminate, and cut the cards apart. To play the game: This game may be played inside or outside. In a large open space have a start line and an ending line. The start line is where the students will return with the cards. At the ending line place a cone or other object to mark where the students are to run to retrieve the cards. Groups of students take turns running, skipping, hopping, etc. to the end with the cards and then do a different physical activity to return to their group. Once all cards have been gathered the students in each group work together to sort the picture cards under the headings magnetic and non-magnetic. This could also be used as an individual assessment or small group practice within the classroom. Created by: Mary Griffith
