This is a great way for younger students to look at main idea and supporting details. I did not think of looking at picture. The only think I can suggest is to type the name of each painting under the magnifying glasses. Thanks for sharing!
On  February 12, 2012One Room Schoolhouse answered:
I'm glad that you like the lesson! If you move the magnifying glass, you will find the title of the painting.

I loved the way this reading comprehension strategy was introduced...I was just wondering why there are NO picture titles listed in the Smart Board Lesson...at least that I could find. If they were not included intentionally, why not? The students had no way to compare their "titles" or main ideas to those that the author had selected. Very Creative! Uses multiple intelligences and styles of learning. Great Idea! Can't wait to see more Reading comprehension skills or strategies smart board lessons!

I'm glad that you all enjoyed the lesson. Actually, the titles are included on every page that has a painting. Move the magnifying glass to reveal the title. I wanted to keep the titles hidden until the students had an opportunity to think and respond, and still have the titles handy. Sorry for the confusion.

I will be happy to email you a PDF. Did you try going into the Promethean menu? There's actually a choice to IMPORT FROM SMARTBOARD. If that doesn't work, email me at lifeinspecialeducation@gmail.com and I will send you a pdf.

Our school uses Promethean boards, not smartboards. Is there a conversion for this?
