Let your students have great fun playing this game while they practice forming sentences! This 8-page activity packet includes teaching suggestions, rules for the game, a master list for one set of cards for the game, and a master for the cards in a fun design. This packet also includes instructions for you or your students to make your own deck or add cards to the given deck. Traditional rules for the rummy card game apply, with students having to make sentences in order to lay down any cards. The card deck contains 52 cards of 4 types. Students will challenge each other because rules for the game stipulate that sentences must make sense! This activity is great for fast finishers, for learning centers, or just for fun grammar practice.

My teaching experience includes 25 years as a K-12 teacher, curriculum administrator, and district federal/state programs administrator. As a teacher, I specialized in middle school language arts and mathematics. Since retiring from the K-12 system, I have been teaching curriculum and education courses at the bachelors' and masters' degree levels as well as supervising student teachers. I am also a successful grant writer, specializing in competitive state and federal grant projects. As a private contractor, I also work to help teachers who need assistance to improve their skills.
