I have created 8 games that align to the First Grade Common Core Language Arts Standards. They would fit perfectly into stations or centers (or could be used as activities to teach with)! Each game has the standard listed as well as directions and possible variations plus a recording sheet.
The games include:
*Putting it in Order-ABC order with beach related words
*Sorting Shells-Sorting past, present and future forms of verbs. The recording sheet will require students to write sentences for each tense.
*Land or Sea? Students will sort words to whether they are LAND (short vowel words) or SEA (long vowel words) words.
*Land or Sea Write the Room-students will search and write words from the room that are either short or long words. Recording sheet will also have students write sentences and analyze their "data" a little by writing how many words they found, which had the most and by how many more!
*Fishing for Agreement-sorting sentences by whether or not the nouns and verbs agree or not
*Diving for Words-Sorting Nouns, Verbs and Adjectives (all related to the beach)
*Cleaning Up the Beach!-fixing sentences
*Label Me!-2 Labeling pictures that require students to use an adjective AND noun to label parts of a beach scene.
