It is so important that Kindergarteners see themselves as readers. The most important aspect of reading is understanding what you read and being able to communicate what is understood. I created this connections card/poster for my Kindergarteners. It is mostly pictures (most are non-readers). It reminds them Of the three types of connections they can make: Text to text, text to seld, and text to world. I use it during my small group instruction.
