With this graphic organizer students can map out their inferences for any text they are reading. Students can record the text clues they picked up on including "seen" clues that are right there in the text, as well as the "cookie crumb" clues as my students call them, that the author puts in there to get us to read between the lines. Students can also record their schema about the topic, and finally, the inference they came up with about the text, character, etc. This can easily be used as a transparency for modeling for students prior to their use. An unlined as well as a lined version of this graphic organizer is included, and can be modified to fit most grade levels.
