Contains a rubric, self-assessment checklist, pre-test, post-test, graphic organizers, and pictures of anchor charts created from this unit. You will need to have your own picture books. The resources focus on using schema plus evidence from the text to create an inference. Students also learn strategies for making inferences about characters, what to ask themselves in order to make an inference, and what type of clues an author provides. . In my classroom I give one of the graphic organizers as a pretest during Reading Workshop. I then fill out the rubric. I place each child's pretest into a pile according to their scores. This allows me to quickly see the groupings of my students. . I also record what percentage of my class is at each level. I use this info for developing my mini lessons and for conferencing during Reading Workshop. I record my conference notes directly on the rubric for easy organization. As the unit progresses, I repeat the above with a mid-point check and then a post test. This process allows me to see the growth of each individual child and allows me to be a reflective teacher.

Karyn, I am sorry this does not contain actual plans, but I was very specific in the description of what was included. "Contains a rubric, self-assessment checklist, pre-test, post-test, graphic organizers, and pictures of anchor charts created from this unit." It did not say lesson plans. The anchor charts show exactly what I did in my minilessons. These were only resources for you. I am a little disappointed at my rating for overall quality and thoroughness, as I did provide you a lot of quality resources and specifically stated what was included. Thank you for your feedback.
