These lessons are modeled after Patricia Cunningham's "Making Words" framework in which students are supported by their teacher to make a variety of words using only the letters in the "secret word" for that lesson.
For each of the four Making Words lessons in this Back-to-School set, you'll find a suggested list of words to build with your students, plus the Student Letter Tiles, the Teacher Word Cards, and a Student Sorting Sheet.
The Back-to-School words chosen for this set of lessons will allow you teach and reinforce vowel combinations, vowel sounds, blends, sight words, and more. The "SECRET WORDS" for these lessons are:

Hi Andrea,
Could you create some "Making Words" activities for autumn words and family words (family, mother, brother, etc). Some years that I teach I am not able to do Thanksgiving or Halloween activities due to religious concerns. Having some "Making Words" activities for other topics would be very helpful.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE
