This is a set of 24 map skills vocabulary cards that you can use with your students when teaching geography. I created them to look like trading cards and my students LOVE using them. I print them out double sided on card stock so they look and feel like real trading cards but they work just as well on regular paper. The front of each card has a vocabulary word related to map skills and the back has a definition and an example of how to use the word in a sentence. I originally created these cards to help my ELL students learn the immense amount of vocabulary that comes along with teaching geography.
I could not make this print out so that the cards would fit the page. Spent a bunch of time and can't get it to work so I can use it.

I'm confused, the definition part of the cards has the font in white. Am I missing something, it is very hard to read. I can change each one to black, but it would be nicer to have them in black already. Otherwise a very usable resource.
I'm sorry about that. I created them with a black font. I noticed when I opened them with my Mac they had a white font and were difficult to read. Then I opened them with my PC and they had a black font. If you can, try opening them with a PC.

Hi I just purchased your Map Skill Cards. The front of the cards look great but the back is very hard to read. It looks as if it has a black and white checkered background. Any suggestions? Thanks!
Yes, each card is actually just a text box. When you open the document in word you can click on each card and change the background to white. I hope this helps!

Hi, I love these cards you made, but for the life of me, I can't open them! I've tried and had TpT email me the file, but no luck. The file will not show anything even when I enable it & switch it to compatibility mode, it still will not open in word. Would you be able to send it in PDF or no? Any suggestions? I just think the cards will be great for my class & want to print them! Thank you!

I'm sorry you can't get them to work. I just converted them into a XML file which I think is similar to a PDF. If you give me your email address I'll send them to you as an attachment.
