Celebrate Mardi Gras in French class! Beginners of all ages will learn about a traditional New Orleans Mardi Gras through an original Readers Theater story called "Le Mardi Gras de Beauregard." Beauregard is a Cajun alligator from the Louisiana bayou. He travels to the big city with his friends: a crawfish, a frog, and a snake. The text of the script is written in sheltered language for beginnings, using only the present tense. Here's what you'll get in this 16-page download:
1. Readers Theater/Storytelling Tips
2. Character visuals
3. Script with lines for 6 individuals and choral lines for the class
4. Vocabulary matching handout with answer key
5. Comprehension question handout with answer key
6. Mardi Gras Teacher Resources (web sites, music, books, etc.)
*Please note: every page of this download is also included in the larger publication called MARDI GRAS: FRENCH STORYTELLING AND THEMATIC UNIT FOR NOVICES. Don't purchase both!
