Celebrate Mardi Gras and learn a sprinkling of French! Children will learn about a traditional New Orleans Mardi Gras through an original Readers Theater story called "Beauregard's Mardi Gras." Beauregard is a Cajun alligator from the Louisiana bayou. He travels to the big city with his friends: a crawfish, a frog, and a snake. The story and activities in this download were written in English by a French teacher in order to give children a taste of Louisiana language and culture. Any new French words you need are available in audio links online.
