Kindergarten and first grade students can apply Martin Luther King's dream to this sorting and graphing activity as they identify choices that would make Martin happy. Students decide if the choices shown would make Martin happy or sad. Pocket chart sort & student worksheet are included. A great way to combine social studies and math and assess whether your students understand Martin's dreams for the world.
This activity is also included in my MLK Math and Literacy Unit.
My kinders loved this! Had them work in pairs to complete manipulative pictures and then do worksheet on own. Afterwards, they really understood when I referred to their actions and asked "Would that make Martin happy or sad?"

Great visual for my class to really understand Martin's message.
